Although we pretty much covered the computer chair on our home page, I
wanted to to discuss a little about how the computer chair has evolved
over the years. I have been in the office furniture industry for well
over 20 years. One thing I have noticed is that the original computer
chair, which is basically just a wooden seat and no wheels, was never
really a meant to be a computer chair. It was very uncomfortable, you
could not move around as you can now and as you can imagine resting your
back on sold wood is not exactly pleasing, it was basically just any old
seat but was not really made for typing. So one day someone said why
don't we make a computer chair specifically for home offices and desks.
The first true office chair still actually exists today, and is used in
most households. This computer chair is something you may be sitting on
while you read this. That computer chair consists of a fabric material
with no arms and wheels at the bottom for easy maneuvering. The next
thing that was introduced was leather, already being used on home
furniture it only made sense to incorporate it into the computer
chair. This was done with great success, and now it account for about
thirty to forty percent of all
office chairs.
What came next though would revolutionize the computer chair world
forever, and this was the ergonomic chair. Most people realized after
spending countless hours on there computer chair that it was really
affecting there posture and caused severe back pain. So like when
superman comes in to save Lois, the ergonomic computer chair was
introduced. Made to contour to ones spine providing exceptional comfort
not yet seen before in a computer chair. This is the office chair that I
myself use today and will always use. What's even more exciting about
the ergonomic computer chair is that with the amazing technology we have
today it keeps evolving. I don't know what the computer chair will
feature 10 years from now, perhaps soda dispensers and a popcorn
machine, but I can tell you one thing, I am very excited about the
computer chair of the future office.
